Anyway, Civil War weekend is one that will go down in the history books. Vince, an old flame for those of you keeping up, came up for the weekend. We hadn't seen each other in a long time and had a really great time hanging out for a few days. He got to spend some time with my friends, which was a blast, and we had a non-stop action packed weekend. Vince even got to partake in a pretty intense hot wing challenge. He did actually complete the challenge but there was some stipulation about licking the sauce off of the plate and he refused to do that. He did get all the wings down. Ten wings in ten minutes. He had one bite of that disgusting li'l chicken wing and was pouring sweat. It was real gross. The bar back brought me some napkins to "towel off" his face because sweat was dripping into his eyes. Ew! So gross! But, he clearly couldn't do it for himself or he'd have sauce all over the place and that would really burn. Believe me that stuff was not friendly. Check out the pics below.
The highlight of the weekend of course was the Civil War. I hadn't had a lot of trash talking from my friends affiliated so closely with Beaver nation, so that took a little fun out of it. But, the fun never really ends in beating OSU. Everyone had predicted we would win, but I thought the game was actually going to be a lot more intense. I'd had a substantial amount to drink that day, so maybe it was intense and I just missed it. Nah...it wasn't quite the game I was hoping for, but maybe that'll happen in January.
I love my Ducks. This weekend, I'm taking part in a flash mob at a giant tailgater in Eugene. Yes, we get our party on for any ol' reason. The Ducks going to the natty is just one of these reasons. Basically, all of my friends are doing this flash mob and we are having a great time rehearsing and laughing at how ridiculous we look. Stay tuned for this video...I will post it as soon as it is edited and completed but that probably won't be until January.
To add to this idea of rivalry, everyone should checkout cafepress.com and look at the Alabama shirts they have on the market (obviously not affiliated with the school) but with their fans. Search for 'roll ducks roll.' The shirts should pop right up. They are hilarious. If I were technologically savvy, I would take the time right now to figure out how to post them. But, I actually don't care that much. Go see for yourselves. It's worth it.
This week has been absolutely bananas. I am trying to get everything ready to migrate three hours south and spend the next two weeks virtually in hibernation ;o) Thank you, Klamath. I'm excited to see friends back home, although it recently occurred to me I have no clue when anyone is getting in or how long anyone is staying. I'm looking forward to seeing my cute li'l nephews (though not so little anymore). I'm looking forward to DOWN TIME, especially after this week, with all the dinners with friends, flash mob rehearsal, gingerbread houses, christmas shopping, working out, and book reading. Two nights ago, in fact, I forgot to turn my ringer on on my phone, and didn't wake up until 7:30 the next morning...and this morning I slept right through my alarm! That has maybe happened one other time in my entire life. I'm literally spent. Tomorrow night lends itself to another rehearsal, more christmas shopping and a few things left to do Saturday morning involving snow tires and donuts. Haha. Then, flash mobbin' it, and heading home! I'm looking forward to my cozy house with all of the familiar Christmas decorations I love.
I think my eyelids are actually starting to close.....
Today's list: Things on my brain...
1. I have to get up early 6 am!
2. I have to shower still
3. How am I going to get all of this gingerbread stuff in the car in the morning without breaking it?
4. I have a pain in my neck.
5. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.
Night, y'all.
